I’m a Software Architect and have run my own consulting business for almost 30 years. Wife & I have been designing and planning to build our off-grid, solar passive home for 5 years. Bought 8.2 ac on the outskirts of North Bay 4 years ago and each year moved one step closer to building. Year 1 cleared and installed the driveway, year 2 cleared the building site and installed septic, year 3 prepared site for pouring cement pad, year 4 installed “Fast Slab” forms, poured the pad and built the garage. Next year hope to build the house and move in.
