The Willamette Valley Basalt Ledge Stone with soapstone slabs is absolutely stunning! We’re going to put our masonry heater into our farmstead home in the next year or two (DIY) in the Silverton, Or area. WHERE did you get that stone? I would love to incorporate it into our stove. My husband is Brasilian, and the soapstone, in addition to being gorgeous and holding heat so well, would be a stunning nod to his homeland!
Hi @carewarner, glad you like that heater. It is one of my favorites too.
That ledge stone was hand picked at the Coburg Rock Quarry on the side of I-5, North of Eugene, OR. We supplied the soapstone which is from a Finnish source.
